This guided tour will show you how the building of the railway in 1855 completely changed the site of the Abbey.

Passing trains have of course damaged the abbey buildings and disturbed the peace of the site. But the arrival of the railway has also developed tourism and informed a wider public about the beauty of the ruins and at the same time promoted their conservation.
